Re: Team V Leicester (league cup)
Am hoping Leicester rest a few while they are on this hot streak, starting with Mahrez, as I'd love a cup run.

Surely the tinkerman won't be able to resist?

Superb chance for the likes of Antonio and I'd expect Jelavic to start, though have no idea what Slaven is like with his own tinkering in the cups.

Re: Team V Leicester (league cup)
difference between resting and utilising your squad

Players like Collins, Jelavic, Antonio need minutes and games like this where Leicester will probably rest a few too is the ideal game to do just that

Re: Team V Leicester (league cup)
Would only give Carroll 45 mins, as I would with Moses (he looked shattered last night so could probably do with a bit more fitness work before playing twice in 3 days)

Would probably give Antonio and Jelavic a decent amount of game time for this one.

Re: Team V Leicester (league cup)
excellent point gank.

nothing wrong with a tactical change here or there (ie Lanzini in for Obiang last night) but agree that we should simply play our best 11 for the fixture.

Plus, the season has barely started so they shouldn't need a rest just yet.

Re: Team V Leicester (league cup)
Leicester have already beaten us this season, we should be playing our strongest possible team. If we've got the strength in depth to allow us to rest good players then we have the strength to risk them all and anyone gets injured or fatigued we'll have a replacement ready for the league.

Why 'rest' anyone this early in the season and risk getting knocked out?

Not Collins FFS. He cost us in the Europa game
Oxford or Henry

I want us to win this fucker this year so I to would probably rest only 2 or 3 and go at it.

Strongest team available in my opinion.

We should be going all out in the cups this year!

Re: Team V Leicester (league cup)
I'd say most of last night's bench should start, with the exception of Speigel & Jelavic. Bench (rest) Sakho, Kouyate, Tomkins, and Ogbonna (if fit), give Antonio a good run, Ginge should play as should Adrian, also play Jenkinson for the whole game. I'd try to get 90 mins out of Moses, he ran himself into the ground last night which might suggest he needs to get fully match fit (it's hard to tell as it may not be humanly possible for anyone to run that fast, that much, over 90 mins).

It still fucking amazes me that we can even talk about having the luxury of such options.

Think Leicester played a reserve team in the last round.
Joe DOODOO (or somefink) scored a hat-trick

Re: Team V Leicester (league cup)
Difficult one this as it's a fine balance between giving others a chance and going out to a Leicester side that are playing well. As discussed elsewhere we do have great strength in depth so it will be interesting.... just hope we don't rest Payet, or at least have him on the bench.

No need for Leicester to make too many changes as they have points on the board and another international break isn't far away, so I reckon we will play a strong side, perhaps playing Oxford in DM and giving Antonio his debut.

Re: Team V Leicester (league cup)
leicester have a small squad so they will be resting players too. We will have to get the balance right but sure Collins, Lanzini, Antonio and Jelavic will all be playing this one.

Re: Team V Leicester (league cup)
Yes
We have had an international break and there is another the second weekend in October so I would probably only rest the Africans who have travelled a bit and anyone else with a knock.
I wouldn't mind seeing Antonio get a run out and someone like Hendrie if he is fit.
